Welcome to the timeless elegance of The Victorian Vicarage, a beautifully restored house, now available as a holiday let or, at certain times of the year, offering luxury bed and breakfast accommodation. Nestling in the picturesque Walkham Valley on the Western fringes of the Dartmoor National Park, here you can enjoy the best of both worlds – all the modern luxuries you would expect from a high-class establishment, whilst retaining the charm and ambience of the Victorian era.
The Victorian Vicarage is owned by Stan and Amanda who look forward to sharing their beautiful home with you. On arrival, your welcome will be warm and inviting. For bed and breakfast guests this includes traditional Victorian refreshments, served either on the croquet lawn or in the Parlour in front of the fire, to help you settle and relax after your journey. For those guests who are renting the whole house as a self- catering holiday let, you may expect a basket of goodies including fresh eggs from our hens, perhaps a home baked cake, or some fresh produce from the kitchen garden.
During your stay, Stan and Amanda want you to feel at home. The little extras offered will help – a beautiful parlour with sofas, throws and cushions where you can settle in front of the fire and browse the collection of books including over 50 vintage books on Dartmoor.
We welcome you to bring your carpet slippers as we respectfully ask guests to remove outer footwear if you have been out walking the moors. There is an area for muddy boots and wet coats and for walkers we have a box of items you may borrow including, maps, a compass and binoculars.
For cyclists there is undercover parking in the old stables for your bikes and a fully equipped workshop. There is a cycle hire and repair shop close by.
